come down the pike as some demented soul
decided to compile a bunch of tracks that shows
the "other side" of Elvis, alternate humorous
and sometimes risque tracks, check it out
over at Mark Edward Lee's blog, nice one!

REVISITING M NIGHT SHYAMALAN'S 'LADY IN THE WATER' - IS IT STILL THE SAME PIECE OF HORROR?

The Sheer Horror - wish the movie was as good as this pic is,
decided to revisit this one as I only saw it once when it
came out in '06 and perspectives can change over time,
maybe it wasn't such a lemon after-all? Sorry to say
that's a no go, this movie is still the same piece of
well you know. There's so much wrong with this flick
I wouldn't even know where to begin, it's like there
was a curse over this whole project, sheesh. Let's
get it over with, using my Palm Springs Rating
System Lady In The Water receives the Limp
Dick Palm Tree Award, a special honor here.

Lady in the Water Movie Review (2006) | Roger Ebert

The key to deciphering M. Night Shyamalan's fractured fairy tale, "Lady in the Water," is to remember that it is rooted in the mythology of Stephen Colbert and "The Colbert Report."

THE CURE 1990! - REVISITING A LITTLE THING CALLED "MIXED UP" A VERY HORRIFIC COMPILATION

Wild Mood Swings sucks a fat one, but one not quite
so fat as the one Mixed Up is still sucking on” - fan
So what gives? Universally rejected and panned by
fans and critics, this remix album is on most worst
Cure albums lists. As remix albums go, it's really
not bad. As usual with these affairs some mixes are
hot and some not. Most of the tunes come from
four key Cure albums and they tacked on a new
song called Never Enough which became a fan
favorite rather quickly and is a great way to
end this album. Best mixes in my opinion
are The Forest and The Walk....The Horror!!

The Cure - Mixed Up - On Second Thought - Stylus Magazine

On Second Thought or better or worse, we here at Stylus, in all of our autocratic consumer-crit greed, are slaves to timeliness. A record over six months old is often discarded, deemed too old for publication, a relic in the internet age.

Now if you want to talk about an album I'm not crazy about,
it would be Bestival 2011, in general the Cure official
live albums have been very disappointing including
Show and Paris, although this version of Primary is tasty.

ACTOR'S SHOWCASE! - GIANCARLO ESPOSITO IS HIS NAME U MAY KNOW HIM AS 'BUGGED OUT' YA DIG?

Night On Earth & Do The Right Thing
two of many great performances from this East
Coast veteran. With over 50 features and a ton
of television to his credits, he currently has 4,
that's right 4 features in post. This fellow Taurus
shows no sign of letting up at age 57 ya dig?
So many great roles and if you've never seen
his segment from Night On Earth where he
plays a taxi passenger named Yo-Yo, then
you're missing out on one of the funniest
skits in 80's cinema...We salute you
sir, keep up the good work!
A reasonable request - he just wants
some brothers up on the wall, ya dig?
The many faces of Giancarlo Esposito.
Giancarlo is a Taurus. His card is The Hierophant,
also called The Pope in some decks.

(basically the band turned the stage into swiss cheese)
This is an excellent Audience Recording. There is a
2 second dropout during Magic Bus (at 7m32s) and also
a slight tape drag present during the intro (at 6s).
This was the last of three nights at Fillmore West and
the day before their court appearance in New York the
following morning for a scuffle on stage at the
Fillmore East on 16th May. Charges against Roger were

dropped but Pete was fined $75 for kicking a Police Officer.

BOWIE RELEASES 10 MINUTE TITLE TRACK FROM UPCOMING 'BLACKSTAR' ALBUM - THE HORROR!!

The Sheer Horror!!
Greetings all, as you know this ain't no editorial type blog
so I'll cut to the chase- Bowie's new song and video
is some bugged-out sh*t, ya dig? The slow sprawling tune
is steeped in demonic themes and overtone. Originally
over 11 mins, Bowie & Visconti had to trim one off
to meet the I-tunes 10 minute max on singles.
I'll say this much- it certainly is a step forward in
the right direction after The Next Day which I
found to be uninteresting and too safe. Remember,
this is the guy that gave us Ziggy, Diamond Dogs,
and countless other brilliant personifications.
While the new song is deep and dark and I'll
have to give it at least another couple spins
to decide, one thing for sure, this is much more
like the Bowie we know and love- demons
or not......The Horror!!

The Inside Story of David Bowie's Stunning New Album, 'Blackstar'

One Sunday night in the spring of 2014, David Bowie walked into 55 Bar, a 96-year-old jazz joint tucked away on a quiet side street in New York's West Village. A friend, jazz bandleader Maria Schneider, had suggested he check out the night's headliner, a quartet led by saxophonist Donny McCaslin.

DARYL HALL 1977! - 'SACRED SONGS' SOLO LP - ROCK N SOUL MEETS FRIPPERTRONICS- THE HORROR

Most successful music artists in 1977 would relish
the idea of a whole three weeks off in-between an
album and a tour. But Daryl Hall went from one
studio and into another to record this brilliant
solo effort with Robert Fripp. The record
company then sat on it for 3 whole years and
had it not been for Hall & Fripp's endless
tenacity which included a massive letter
writing campaign from fans to release the
record. I like to think of this record as the
100 percent pure unadulterated Daryl Hall.
He's had a few more solo albums after this
but nothing ever came close to this album.

Graded on a Curve: Daryl Hall, Sacred Songs - The Vinyl District

While by no means an unknown work, it also seems fair to say that Daryl Hall's first solo LP Sacred Songs gets nowhere near enough retrospective attention. This is mainly due to the inclusion of what many might consider to be an odd associate (at best) or an irreconcilable collaborator (at worst) in art-rock maestro ...

Note - album proper ends with Without Tears.

THE HORROR THAT IS "SHARK'S TREASURE" - 1975 ADVENTURE SKIPPER VS SHARKS & CONVICTS!

This one washed up on my shore (ha ha) via a Hulu
recommendation. Pleasantly surprised, not a bad flick
at all. The picture advertises the fact that the shark
footage they shot is real and that adds a nice
edgy touch to a film that's pretty tense throughout.
Who will win, the convicts, the boat owners or
the sharks? Using my Palm Springs Rating
System, Sharks Treasure gets Two & A Half
Palm Trees....The Horror!!

Shark's Treasure Movie Review (1975) | Roger Ebert

Cornel Wilde's in great shape. We know that because of one of the few spontaneous moments in "Shark's Treasure," his new movie. He's on the deck of his cabin cruiser with three crewmembers. They're all younger men, but he's the skipper and this is his expedition for sunken treasure.
