DARYL HALL 1977! - 'SACRED SONGS' SOLO LP - ROCK N SOUL MEETS FRIPPERTRONICS- THE HORROR

Most successful music artists in 1977 would relish
the idea of a whole three weeks off in-between an
album and a tour. But Daryl Hall went from one
studio and into another to record this brilliant
solo effort with Robert Fripp. The record
company then sat on it for 3 whole years and
had it not been for Hall & Fripp's endless
tenacity which included a massive letter
writing campaign from fans to release the
record. I like to think of this record as the
100 percent pure unadulterated Daryl Hall.
He's had a few more solo albums after this
but nothing ever came close to this album.

Graded on a Curve: Daryl Hall, Sacred Songs - The Vinyl District

While by no means an unknown work, it also seems fair to say that Daryl Hall's first solo LP Sacred Songs gets nowhere near enough retrospective attention. This is mainly due to the inclusion of what many might consider to be an odd associate (at best) or an irreconcilable collaborator (at worst) in art-rock maestro ...

Note - album proper ends with Without Tears.
