CATCH A RIDE ON "THE DEVIL'S EXPRESS"! - 1976 BLAXPLOITATION KUNG-FU NYC SUBWAY HORROR!

So roughly three years in to the B-movie thing, it's movies like this that provide a pop quiz test as to whether or not my hearts still in it. Put another way- if you can digest the "greasy spoons of cinema" as our man at Cool Ass Cinema calls it (review below) then you're probably a bona fide B-movie fan. It's kung fu meets blaxploitation meets the NYC subway as the story revolves around a demon summonsed from the subway, the sheer horror. Using my Pinewoods Rating System, Devil's Express also known as Gang Wars gets 1/2 of a Pinewood.....The Horror!!

Reel Bad Cinema: The Devil's Express (1976) review

THE DEVIL'S EXPRESS 1976 aka GANG WARS Warhawk Tanzania (Luke Curtis), Larry Fleishman (Chris), Wilfredo Roldan (Rodan), Stephen DeFazio (Sam) Directed by Barry Rosen The Short Version: A bumper crop of bad movie madness, DEVIL'S EXPRESS goes off the rails right after leaving the station.

The Devil's Express aka Gang Wars

The Devil's Express (aka Gang Wars; Death Express) is a 1976 American horror/kung-fu/blaxploitation film directed by Barry Rosen and starring Warhawk Tanzania, Thomas D. Anglin, and Fred Berner. It was re-released as Gang Wars in 1979 to cash-in on the success of gang culture movie The Warriors.
