JUDE LAW IS AFTER 40 MIL GOLD IN A BROKEN DOWN SUBMARINE IN THE "BLACK SEA"- THE HORROR!

An American-British adventure thriller, Jude Law steps up to the plate and turns in a fairly decent performance as the leader of an excursion for gold that, of course, has it's twists and turns. Not a bad undersea adventure at all, going Three Pinewoods on this one, now back to our 70's films....The Horror!!

'Black Sea' Movie Review

Hell and high water are a setup for genre adventure that Black Sea only partially delivers. But in Hollywood's slack season, we'll take what we can get. Greed makes a great plot catalyst. And director Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland ) uses Dennis Kelly's script to shoehorn The Treasure of the Sierra Madre into a submarine.

Excellent submarine thrillers like Black Sea get much of their visceral oomph from making it seem as if the camera operator - standing in for us - is just as constrained as the characters.
