JAKE GYLLENHAAL IS THE "NIGHTCRAWLER" IN 2014 THRILLER ABOUT NEWS STRINGERS....THE HORROR!!

I don't know if I'd go "a modern masterpiece" on this but Nightcrawler is certainly a very effective and enjoyable thriller with excellent night photography in Los Angeles. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of any of the Gyllenhaal clan but Jake is great in this and way deep in the zone. Russo is also outstanding as the greedy news director. Nightcrawler Movie Review & Film Summary (2014) | Roger Ebert

Dan Gilroy's thriller "Nightcrawler" is about an amateur cameraman who parlays his eye and his nerve into a successful small business, deceiving, manipulating and exploiting everyone who stands in his way.

"Nightcrawler" Review

The scariest thing about the new Jake Gyllenhaal film, "Nightcrawler," is Jake Gyllenhaal. Or, to be precise, Jake Gyllenhaal's eyes. They are sunk in their sockets. They have dispensed with blinking, and you can understand why; it would mean missing something important.

The late great Bill Paxton has a minor but memorable role as one of Nightcrwaler's original proteges.

THE HORROR!!
