JEFF FAHEY IS SPENDING HIS LAST DAY "BENEATH"! - OR IS HE? IN THIS 2014 TRAPPED MINERS SHEER HORROR

BENEATH is a supernatural horror flick (sort of) dressed up as a trapped miners thriller. Daughter joins dad on his last day down in the mines, an explosion happens, trapping some, killing or wounding others. As the oxygen slowly runs out, the remaining survivors start to imagine things and turn on each other. My man Brent Briscoe looks like he's lost a third of his body weight but is his usual self otherwise, Jeff Fahey does the Jeff Fahey thing and the world is a better place. A flick like this needs a real strong "ah-ha" moment or climatic scene and instead we get a couple shots of contorted faces and not much else. Unfortunately whatever good was here (acting and photography) is dragged down with the rest into an unsatisfying abyss.....The Horror!! Pinewoods Rating System - One Lonely Pinewood (in the dark.)
