8 Amusement Parks That Died Surreal And Bizarre Deaths

There's not much middle ground when it comes to theme parks -- either you operate a magical and amazing facility that children will stab each other to get a ticket for, or you wind up with a sad, rusted-out Christmas Wonderland where Santa is a drunk and the reindeer are goats.

Roger Waters kicked off his latest tour, "Us + Them", in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday night. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN U BUY AN OLD RUN DOWN MOVIE HOUSE IN FIJI - "REEL PARADISE" IS THE 2005 HORROR!!

Happen to remember a movie called "Hoop Dreams"? Well director Steve James has made many other really great documentaries including this one that spotlights a family living on Fiji and showing free movies. The Pierson's bring their two teens with them and between the story and events of the family as well as what the father goes thru trying to screen films makes for very entertaining stuff. Have always dug this one and turned quite a few cinephiles onto it over the years....The Horror!! Pinewoods Rating System - Three Pinewoods.
"The Piersons went, they showed movies, they returned. Taveuni is more or less the same. But by living and coping together for a year, the family is probably stronger and richer: Years from now, Georgia and Wyatt are going to be telling people about how their crazy parents opened a movie theater in Fiji, and in their voices you will hear that although they had their doubts at the time, they now think they were lucky to have such parents. Sometimes it's not whether you succeed, but whether you try." - Roger Ebert

2005 release but kind of hard to find, no streaming anywhere that I could find, here's link to Amazon dvd's
