A HAS-BEEN LOUNGE SINGER STAGES A COMEBACK IN "BROADWAY DANNY ROSE"! - WOODY ALLEN HORROR

Lou Conova - of all the Allen movies, he just might be the most illustrious character. Add a brilliant script chock full of Allen jokes, scrumptious black and white photography of the Big Apple, the best Mia Farrow performance in any of her Allen outings and this one is truly.....The Horror!! Broadway Danny Rose Movie Review (1984) | Roger Ebert

The first time we see him, he's talking fast, and his arms are working like a guy doing an imitation of an air traffic controller. His hands keep coming in for landings. This is Broadway Danny Rose, the most legendary talent agent in New York, the guy who will represent you after you've been laughed off every stage in the Catskills.

Broadway Danny Rose

Back when there was loveableness to Woody Allen’s work, when he bordered his philosophising and quaint studies of losers in the game of romance, with traces of parody, he delivered this slight but delightful tale of an all-count loser.

THREE DOG NIGHT 1971! - REVISITING THE BAND'S 5TH ALBUM SIMPLY TITLED "NATURALLY" - THE HORROR!!

The band's 5th album which included their hit "Horror To The World" is a collection of 10 great tunes, every one a winner. There were very few TDN tunes at all that the band penned and this contains one of the very first, an instrumental called Fire Eater. As was typical, the running order on the 8-track version of this album is completely different and in this case rather interesting. So a bonafide 8 track rip someone upped on Youtube is used for this one....The Horror!!

WELCOME TO THOH, IT'S JUST ANOTHER "NIGHT ON EARTH"! - 1991 JIM JARMUSCH TAXICAB HORROR-PIECE

FIVE CITIES - FIVE TAXICABS
Winona Ryder absolutely kills it as the San Fernando Valley tomboy cab driver. As many times as I've seen it, every time I notice something different, the sign of a masterful performance, wonderfully understated.
NYC - 3 great actors at the top of their game. Giancarlo Esposito is off the chart in the film's most hilarious segment of the five.
Paris - Literally an Oscar-worthy performance by Beatrice Dalle as a sassy blind passenger.
Rome - Roberto Benigni - another hilarious segment as he picks up a priest as a passenger and decides to confess to him on the way to his destination.
While not as comical as the stories before it, the Helsinki segment is the perfect 'let-ya-down-easy' way to end the film. It continues to be a fav for me of the 5.
PINEWOODS RATING SYSTEM - FIVE TALL PINEWOODS

Night On Earth Movie Review & Film Summary (1992) | Roger Ebert

Jim Jarmusch's "Night on Earth" assembles five moments in time, in taxicabs, in the middle of the night, in five of the world's cities. At the end, we have learned no great lessons and arrived at no thrilling conclusions, but we have shared the community of the night, when people are unbuttoned and vulnerable - more ready to speak about what's really on their minds.

WELCOME TO THOH WE'RE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A "SAVAGE WEEKEND"! - 1979 B-SLASHER HORROR

Considered to be in the public domain, I received this as part of the 50 Drive-In Movies set by Mill Creek. A quite watchable entry in the early slasher, lots of enjoyable b-movie components and the worst boom in all of cinema, like this cat can not keep the mic out of the shot. The flick moves along at a nice pace. The bad guy is a very naughty boy indeed.....The Horror!! Pinewoods Rating System - Two & 3/4 Pinewoods
